Event Information

Title: All About: The ASIS School Safety Standard Development for a More Risk-Averse Environment

Description:

The ASIS Professional Standards Board (PSB) is developing a Standard that provides requirements and guidance for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of a school security program. The Standard, in the final stages of development, will address the assessment of risk and developing protective strategies (utilizing physical security principles) for applying physical security measures necessary to support and promote safe educational environments.

This Standard, which will cover K-12 learning centers, will provide a basis for contributors to develop policies, plans, procedures, controls, and integrated physical security systems to achieve a comprehensive school security program.

Learning Objective #1: Develop a risk-averse learning environment to harden facilities, make staff and students aware of the risks and develop procedures for a safer workplace.

Learning Objective #2: Learn about the depth of the international school tragedy crisis.

Learning Objective #3: Understand the dynamics of an internationally recognized standard.

Type: All Access Education
