Event Information

Title: LGBTQ+ Safety in the Modern Industrial Democracies

Description:

The security industry is becoming more diverse, and organizations have the obligation to ensure their workforce is safe, regardless of individual profiles. How do security managers ensure the safety of their employees in an increasingly polarized and uncertain environment? How far does an organization’s Duty of Care extend? Do employers have the responsibility to ensure their employee’s safety outside of business hours or for those that work remotely? What are some best practices for security managers to educate staff on the risks faced outside of the workplace? How can security managers ensure the safety of their LBGTQ+ employees while recognizing the ideological complexities of the organization? Our experts will answer these and other questions.

Learning Objective #1: Know how to provide Duty of Care for all employees.

Learning Objective #2: Learn how to talk about and understand threats faced by LGBTQ+ individuals without focusing on black swans.

Learning Objective #3: Understand how to ensure the safety of LBGTQ+ employees while navigating the ideological complexities of the organization and the workforce.
