Event Information

Title: The Trusted and Valued Insider (Threat)

Description:

Our colleagues, partners, and customers all have a stake in our success and they each enjoy differing degrees of trust as we engage. This trust is a mainstay and key ingredient in the execution of any insider threat risk program. Program messaging is as important as the execution and transparency of the message. Understanding the why behind policies adds to the credibility of subsequent scrutiny. The scrutiny assumes benevolent intent over maliciousness. When that rare individual who enjoys the highest level of trust breaks this trust they enjoy, your program engages in a transparent manner. This is how we build and execute an effective insider risk management program: by embracing mutual trust.

Learning Objective #1: Understand the importance of consistent and continuous transparent messaging surrounding the insider threat and why a program built on the concept of mutual trust exists.

Learning Objective #2: Understand why conducting investigations from the position of presumed innocence and benevolent intent maintains the trust balance in the relationship with the employee, partner, or customer.

Learning Objective #3: Know why the composition of the insider risk threat management program is not relegated to the technologist; rather, it includes HR, security, Biz Ops, legal, IT/Infosec, and executive-level engagement.
