Title: Leveraging AI and Other Technology Evolutions in Supply Chain Risk Management: A Post-Pandemic Update

Description:

Recent global crises—including natural disasters from California to Florida, extreme flooding in Asia, and a resurgence of COVID in China—have continued to expose the vulnerabilities of supply chains and cascading impacts downstream. Previous GSX SCRM sessions answered questions including: “What should security and crisis management leaders understand about changes in supply chain risk management? What can they learn, and how can they contribute to this evolution?” This session builds on previous sessions by 1) Providing updates on changing risk models and frameworks, beginning with the probability-severity matrix and evolving to profit-node vulnerability analysis; 2) Quantifying risk data using a dataset of 14 million incidents and thousands of customers (spanning January 2020-July 2022); and 3) Analyzing previous predictions: What did our industry get right? What did we miss?

Learning Objective #1: “Walk in the shoes” of their supply chain risk management counterparts: How has their world changed over the last decade? What trends did the pandemic expedite?

Learning Objective #2: Learn how AI provides granularity of critical events such as road closures, flooding, chemical spills or fires, all of which can threaten a company's supply chain and logistics.

Learning Objective #3: Learn how to proactively leverage data insights to communicate strategically with internal and external partners and customers, alerting them to potential supply chain disruptions before they result in financial consequences.
